Dancity, cultural association from Foligno which has helped the development in a new electronic and contemporary music culture in Umbria and nationally in Italy has teamed up with Musicalboxeventi, from Perugia, less than two months before the start of Dancity Festival (1st and 2nd July 2011) to put forward a special event, the collaboration of Ryuichi Sakamoto and Alva Noto, in concert at the Teatro Morlacchi in Perugia. The entire revenue of the concert will be donated to Red Dot Relief, Charity Proposal on behalf of the Dance Music Community Worldwide Emergency Relief for the Tohoku Kanto Earthquake.
Already raising over $35,000 since their inception just prior to WMC 2011, RDR now move on to their official London event. Featuring a loose evening of music and culture headlined by spearhead Seth Troxler and Ryan Crosson, Hot Natured prodigy Jamie Jones and fabric legend, Craig Richards, RDR bring the pioneers of the dance music circuit together in the same room to soundtrack this special event.
London disco collective Shoplifter including Derren Smart, jozif and Craig Richards will kickstart this special evening soundtracking a special photographic exhibition showcasing a decade of London clubbing from three infamous local photographers Rob Low, Nick Ensing and Ralf Obergfell whose work will feature many familiar faces and document the capital’s own musical story over the last 10 years. Music from Claus Voigtmann and Road To Nowhere soundsystem plus special videos and surprises on the night are also planned.
Whether it is for a drink during the exhibition or for a dance downstairs, join us and help us continue to help Japan. Tickets are only £10, all profits from the event will go to Red Dot Relief. Please check links below to see how your money is helping those victims of such tragedy via Peace Boat.
Special thanks to The Red Gallery for the space, RSH Audio for providing us the Funktion One Sound, the photographers, the artists and everyone involved to make this happen.
